The choices for a wedding ceremony are three. You can have a civil, a catholic or an orthodox wedding. Catholic and Orthodox weddings can only take place in churches and civil weddings can take place in hotel terraces with a magnificent view, the terrace of a beautiful chapel overlooking at the sea, a winery, the beach or even a boat.
One of the most beautiful chapel terraces for civil ceremonies is Profitis Ilias which is very close to Imerovigli and Agia Irini close to Fira. Hotel terraces are also ideal for civil weddings since they usually offer idyllic view and romantic sceneries. The decoration makes them truly magnificent for such occasions and guests love such events. Usually the couple chooses to stay in one of the suites of the hotel that offers its wedding terrace since no wedding can be performed there if there are no bookings at all. Of course, the guests are always welcome to stay there as well.
If you decide to have the wedding in a hotel terrace you should have in mind that some hotels charge for their terraces and some don't.
Hotel Terraces for WeddingsWineries are also a good idea for civil weddings and receptions for many guests since they offer ample space. Unfortunately some of the wineries do not offer caldera view or no view at all but they are all well-organized venues. In addition, have in mind that they charge a rent for the location so weddings in wineries tend to be a bit more expensive than weddings in chapels or some of the hotel terraces.
Wineries for WeddingsFor Catholic weddings there is a catholic church in Fira. Have in mind that the ceremony in Santorini can only take place in Greek, French or Italian and not in English and either the groom or the bride should understand one of these languages.
For an Orthodox wedding there are a few more choices. You may want to perform the ceremony in Agios Markos which is a beautiful chapel near Imerovigli with a nice terrace overlooking at the sea or the Mitropolis of Fira or some of the other churches of the island.

Wedding Receptions
As far as the wedding dinner or reception is concerned you can have it in a local restaurant with tasty Greek dishes of your choice or the restaurant of a hotel. Some of the hotels even have special spots that they provide for newlyweds on their special day. There is a variety of menus that you can choose from depending on your taste and budget. We usually make the reservation for dinner close to the wedding location in order to have easy and quick access after the ceremony or we just arrange transfers for the couple and all the guests, after all the distances in Santorini are quite short.
Wedding Reception LocationsIf the wedding takes place in a hotel or chapel we could arrange a small gathering after the wedding for you and your guests with sweets and drinks just before dinner.
Accommodation
